Francine Kirsch

Born in France, Francine Kirsch began her artistic practice after moving to the United States.

While studying art at Santa Barbara City College, she discovered her love of clay. She deepened her ceramic studies during five years in Japan, where the use of stone in the landscape inspired her to explore stone sculpture.

Upon returning to Santa Barbara, she taught ceramics at The Anacapa School, while continuing to work on clay sculptures and stone carvings in her studio.

Francine has participated in the California Sculptors Symposium as an attendee, teacher, board and committee member, and show coordinator. Established in 2002, the symposium takes place annually in Cambria, California.

She is also a yoga instructor and worked on a series of yoga-inspired bronze sculptures.

Her work has appeared in regional and international group exhibitions in the United States, New Zealand, and Korea, as well as numerous galleries. She has also exhibited in Japan, and her sculptures are held in private collections around the world.
